Dr Thu Mai is an Australian-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with qualifications including MBBS (Monash University) and FRANZCOG. She completed her specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at several major Melbourne women’s health centres including Royal Women’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women and Sunshine Hospital. Following that, she undertook further training in infertility and IVF with placements at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Monash IVF and the Melbourne Assisted Conception Centre.

Her clinical interests focus on reproductive endocrinology, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), recurrent miscarriage, ovulation induction and IVF. She also includes diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy in her practice.

Dr Mai brings a unique perspective to her practice as someone who grew up in Melbourne’s western suburbs after migrating from Vietnam as a child. She is the only Vietnamese-speaking fertility specialist in Victoria, which enables her to provide culturally attuned care for patients from multilingual and migrant backgrounds.

Dr Thu Mai specialises in infertility associated with ovulation and menstrual disorders, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage and unexplained infertility. She has particular interests in reproductive endocrinology and fertility care for patients from culturally diverse communities, including Vietnamese-speaking patients. Her fertility work includes detailed assessment, ovulation induction, IUI and IVF, alongside diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy for conditions that may be affecting conception.
