Meet Sonia

Dr Sonia Anwar is an Australian trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist with Monash IVF.

Dr Anwar provides gynaecology services for women in all areas with special interest in infertility. Having completed her specialist qualification with the Royal Australian College of the Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Queensland, she underwent training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Bundaberg Base Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital, as well as obtaining a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from University of New South Wales.

Dr Anwar’s private gynaecology practices; in North Lakes and Caboolture, focusses on treating women with gynaecological conditions relating to endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, period problems, cervical abnormalities, menopause and prolapse issues. Sonia routinely performs minimal access surgery (keyhole) for common gynaecological problems as well as providing a full range of fertility treatment including IVF.

With a passion for women’s health, Sonia believes in good communication and to provide the best possible evidence based care for her patients. As a woman she understands their needs, privacy and expectations. She is experienced, knowledgeable and very capable with a wide scope of experience working with women of diverse cultural backgrounds. She can fluently speak Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
