Dr Michelle
Dr Michelle Proud is a specialist in fertility and gynaecology, practicing at Monash IVF Sunshine Coast.
With her calm and empathetic nature, Michelle takes time to understand her patients individual needs – providing personalised, inclusive and holistic approaches. Through education and empowering her patients, she ensures they have a better understanding of their bodies and are central to all decision making surrounding their care.
Michelle grew up in North Queensland and studied medicine at James Cook University. As a junior doctor, she was awarded Townsville Hospital’s prestigious ‘Intern of the Year’. Moving to South East Queensland, she completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology under the tutelage of some of Queensland’s best laparoscopic and gynaecological surgeons. With this guidance, she developed a special interest in fertility and advanced minimally invasive surgery.
Michelle has undergone additional training in fertility with Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast and Monash IVF. She was awarded Excellence in a Masters of Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology. She is a member of Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society, the Australian Pelvic Pain Foundation, as well as the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society and more.
She cares for patients from early adolescence to menopause and beyond with a broad range of gynaecological concerns, including: fertility and IVF, endometriosis, persistent pelvic pain, menstrual abnormalities, contraception, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), colposcopy for abnormal cervical screening, perimenopause, menopause and menopausal hormonal treatment, fibroids & vulval conditions.

“Supporting my patients throughout their journey to parenthood is an honour. I especially enjoy working with patients who may have underlying concerns like pelvic pain or endometriosis – taking great care to approach things holistically and develop a treatment plan that allows them to feel empowered in their health and wellbeing.”
