Dr Michaela Lee
Dr Michaela Lee completed her medical degree in 1996 at Vienna University, Austria and began training in a well-known Austrian fertility clinic where she was involved in clinical work and research. In addition, Michaela underwent training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Hospital, Vienna.
In 2001, Michaela furthered her training in California and was appointed to work as a Research Fellow at the Foetal Medicine Centre, Cedar Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles with Prof. L Platt. She participated in regular ultrasound clinics for high-risk pregnancy including first trimester screening, and morphology ultrasounds whilst her research projects focused around 3D-Ultrasound.
Michaela moved to Australia in 2003 and held the position of Registrar at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital (RBWH) for six years. The RBWH Maternity Services enabled her to gain valuable experience in a wide range of difficult deliveries. She became proficient in managing a variety of women’s health issues and pregnancy complications which include severe preeclampsia, early preterm delivery, and maternal medical conditions.
In addition, Michaela held a surgical gynaecological position at Redcliffe Hospital before opening her private rooms at the Wesley Medical Centre. Michaela’s comprehensive range of services now include advanced fertility and reproductive medicine, having completed her master’s degree in Reproductive Medicine in 2018.
Dr Michaela Lee specialises in the following:
Infertility: Cycle monitoring, Ovulation induction, Intra-uterine Insemination (IUI) (including Donor Sperm) and Invitro Fertilisation (IVF) including, but not limited to: Frozen Embryo Transfer, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) Treatment, Surrogacy and Donor Sperm.
Obstetrics: Uncomplicated pregnancies as well as pregnancies complicated by: Diabetes, thyroid function disorder, heart conditions, clotting disease, multiple pregnancies and breech presentation.
Gynaecology: Menstrual abnormalities, post-menopausal bleeding, management of abnormal PAP smear, Laparoscopic endometriosis investigation, Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, early pregnancy complication, fertility assessment and management of incontinence.
