Meet James

Dr James Orford is a specialist Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, and is the Clinical Director of Monash IVF Sunshine Coast.

A medical graduate of the University of Queensland, James has worked as an IVF fertility specialist since 2000 and is well known on the Sunshine Coast. Along with delivering babies to local Sunshine Coast families, James has a keen interest in minimally invasive surgery and infertility. In 2007, he established Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast, wanting to make a difference for his patients.

James specialises in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and regularly performs keyhole surgery for complex endometriosis, ovarian issues, hysterectomy, and bladder incontinence procedures. He has spent more than 25 years developing his skills and approach, supporting women to achieve their goals of starting a family with improved fertility.

James regularly teaches trainee specialists and has had specialists from around Australia attend his theatre sessions to learn new these techniques. He mentors senior trainees and new specialists at Sunshine Coast University Hospital in these surgeries each week.

As a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG), James is dedicated to the care and support of his patients – ensuring they are well educated about every step of their fertility journey. He is also the Chair of the Medical Advisory committee at Buderim Private Hospital.
