Meet Chris

Dr Chris Arthur has many years’ experience as a gynaecologist, obstetrician, and healthcare provider in different regions throughout Queensland. He is passionate about all areas of women’s health but maintains a particular interest in helping couples and individuals achieve their desire for a family.

Chris completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and completed his registration years working across south-east and northern Queensland. Prior to undertaking his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Chris worked in Ireland in emergency medicine and Mitchell in western Queensland as a country town doctor. This experience has provided him with a broad view of health care and a wide cross-section of various medical conditions.

Chris moved to the Gold Coast in 2016 to pursue further training in advanced minimally invasive gynaecology procedures (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) and then attained his Fellowship of RANZCOG. Chris loves the area, the lifestyle, and all that is to offer for his young family.

Chris continues to hold a public appointment at the Gold Coast University Hospital as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, he values the opportunity to teach and train to further expand available services to the greater Gold Coast community. He has published individually and as part of large collaborations.

Chris has a Masters degree in both Sports Medicine and Reproductive Medicine. This knowledge has helped him to gain a thorough understanding on how movement and exercise can have truly positive impacts on our health. Sports medicine was a natural progression for Chris, having had significant involvement in sports both as a participant and coach. With a history of sports medicine, Chris recognises the common fertility difficulties that high-impact sports people may face and is available to help people with their pregnancy desires.

In his private practice, Chris regularly sees individuals and couples to help them realize their fertility goals, he manages a broad range of gynaecological issues that are causing distress and supports women through their journey.

Daily, Chis enjoys the challenge of helping with conception, and the satisfaction of assisting someone with the management of a condition that is disrupting their life. He loves being a part of a team supporting people all the way on their fertility goals.
