Genetic Carrier Screening

If you’re planning a pregnancy, genetic carrier screening is one of the most valuable steps you can take.

Our carrier screening program provides accurate, flexible testing for hundreds of genes with genetic counselling and access to a national network of IVF and ultrasound specialists for all those who need to make the next steps.

Understand your reproductive options

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) recommends all individuals planning a pregnancy, or in early pregnancy consider genetic carrier screening.

Our Genetic Carrier Screening test helps you understand your chance of having a child with a significant genetic condition. Testing is available to everyone, whether or not you are currently having IVF treatment.

How can I order Genetic Carrier Screening?

The test can be completed using a saliva kit at home, or via saliva or blood at one of our partner pathology collection centres or selected Monash IVF clinic. At Monash IVF, we have arranged testing via VCGS as our pathology provider for both 3-gene and expanded genetic carrier screening.

Our friendly and experienced Nurse Enquiry Team are available to answer any of your questions. You can contact them for further information about Genetic Carrier Screening by booking a nurse chat online, or calling 1800 628 533.
