Dr Moses Abe

Dr Moses Abe is a Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist offering consultations in Geelong, at Cremorne and via telehealth. He has over 30 years’ experience as a registered medical practitioner, having been registered since 1995. He completed formal specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in reproductive medicine and IVF, in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Prior to joining Monash IVF in 2011, he worked at the UK’s largest independent provider of assisted reproductive treatment services.

Dr Abe believes that a woman’s fertility should not be limited by her other life aspirations. Fertility control, preservation and expression are key tenets of his professional practice. With a holistic and compassionate approach to patient care, he presents treatment options clearly and individualises management plans using the best available evidence.

Within the Monash IVF early intervention pathway, Dr Abe runs a monitored ovulation induction programme for women whose difficulty conceiving relates to irregular or absent ovulation. Cycles are followed with ultrasound and blood monitoring. For many women this is an appropriate step to consider before IVF, and where it is not successful or not suitable, patients continue into the full range of Monash IVF treatment options. His practice also encompasses the procedural aspects of IVF and advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, often undertaken as a diagnostic or therapeutic step before treatment begins.

Alongside his fertility practice, Dr Abe has spent three decades in intrapartum obstetrics, which continues to inform how he thinks about pregnancy, risk and the decisions women face.

He is the author of Women’s Fertility After 35: A Specialist’s Honest Guide to Fertility, Age, and the Decisions That Matter (2026).

Dr Abe holds a senior academic appointment as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Deakin University School of Medicine in Geelong, with significant involvement in clinical research. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
