Meet Vanessa

Dr Vanessa King is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and fertility specialist based in Fitzroy and is affiliated with both St Vincent's Private Hospital and Epworth Freemasons. Dr King is enthusiastic about caring for women before, during and after their pregnancies as well as managing gynaecological problems throughout a woman's life.

Dr King is a graduate of Monash University and trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. She spent time during her training at rural hospitals in Wangaratta and Geelong and gained international experience at Cork University Maternity Hospital in Ireland.

Dr King's obstetric practice includes the management of low and high-risk pregnancies, including multiple pregnancies. She has a keen interest in infertility and completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine in 2013. She also provides pre-pregnancy counselling services, and gynaecological services including laparoscopy and colposcopy.

Having grown up in country Victoria, Dr King loves the practical, 'hands on' aspect of obstetrics and gynaecology, and enjoys being able to care for women at an important time of their lives. With three children of her own, Dr King recognises the importance of information and choice and respect as women make their own journeys into motherhood. Outside work, Dr King enjoys cycling and has started playing netball again. Her 3 kids keep her pretty busy as well.
