Meet Kishani

As a Fertility Specialist, Dr Kishani Kannangara is a highly experienced Andrologist and Reproductive Endocrinologist. Reproductive Endocrinologists look deeply into endocrine disorders which can be the cause of fertility issues in both male and female patients.

Born in New Zealand Kishani completed an Undergraduate degree at Otago University and then graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). In 2011 Kishani was admitted to the Royal Australian College of Physicians as a Consultant Endocrinologist after completing an Andrology Fellowship at Monash Medical Centre and the Prince Henry’s Institute of Medical Research in 2010.

Kishani’s comprehensive knowledge of the endocrine system leads to a thorough approach in investigating infertility and reproductive function. Not only is she passionate about assessing and treating male factor infertility such as Klinefelter syndrome, she is also a highly regarded specialist in this area with over 13 years experience.

Kishani is part of a team at Westmead Hospital consulting with adult and paediatric patients on fertility preservation before and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. A service that offers hope and reassurance at vulnerable times.

Kishani regularly sees all types of patients, including those with diabetes, gestational diabetes, PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome), thyroid and pituitary disorders, and androgen deficiency. Kishani can offer advice on all fertility concerns, including fertility preservation and patients requiring donor services.

Kishani is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, Australian Diabetes Society, Fertility Society of Australia, and the International Society of Fertility Preservation. She is also a Visiting Medical Practitioner at Westmead Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer in Andrology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She is dedicated to providing specialist services to rural areas such as Dubbo and currently offers Telehealth consulting to the area.
