Dr Amy Hicks

Dr Amy Hicks is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist who believes in providing personalised, holistic and evidence-based care to individuals and couples at all stages of their reproductive journey.

Dr Hicks holds a Masters of Reproductive Medicine from the University of NSW where she graduated with excellence. She has had the privilege of completing a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology under the mentorship of Dr Tamara Hunter (CREI and Medical Director or Monash IVF Western Australia) and the department at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

During her specialisation, Dr Hicks had the opportunity to train with some of Australia’s leading advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgeons and is therefore able to provide both medical and surgical treatment options to her patients.

Prior to embarking on her medical studies, Dr Hicks studied a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) and spent 18months working with the Australian Institute of Sport with both developing and elite athletes. This experience helps to informs her holistic approach to healthcare, as well as a unique understanding of the physical and emotional demands of those pursuing a career in sport.

In addition to her work at Monash IVF, Dr Hicks maintains active involvement in public hospital practice at Fiona Stanley Hospital in both obstetrics and gynaecology, participating in regular teaching and coordinating junior medical officers. This allows her to bring a balanced, contemporary perspective to her patient care.

Passionate about providing personalised care and acknowledges the importance of communication with your care provider. Known both personally and professionally for valuing general wellbeing and understanding the emotional and physical demands fertility treatment can place on patients and their families, Dr Hicks is committed to supporting patients through every step of their fertility journey. She takes the time to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and tailors care accordingly, combining clinical expertise with compassion. Known for her approachable manner and strong communication, she works closely with patients to ensure they feel informed, supported and empowered throughout treatment.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Hicks is a published author in the field of menopause and continues to contribute to research in ovarian tissue preservation and remains engaged in professional development, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest advances in reproductive medicine.
