Meet Alejandra

Dr Alejandra Izurieta is a Specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Gynaecologist and Obstetrician consulting at Southern Nest Women’s Healthcare in Hurstville, Sydney.

Alejandra is a Board-certified Fertility specialist having the qualification of a Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). This is the highest achievement for a fertility specialist in Australia and New Zealand, requiring an additional three years of advanced subspecialty training and rigorous examination.

Starting her training with a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy (BSc) from the University of New South Wales, she proceeded to a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney and was awarded Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).

After completing both her specialist and subspecialist training, Alejandra has focussed her practice on fertility disorders, miscarriage, ovulation issues including PCOS, and reproductive endocrinology. She is able to provide expert continuity of care from conception to the delivery of your baby. Through her affiliation with Monash IVF, she ensures her patients have access to leading experts and the most advanced reproductive technologies available.

Education, service, and commitment are the reasons for Alejandra’s appointments as a staff specialist at the Royal Hospital for women, where she was responsible for the coordination of the GP antenatal shared care program and the postgraduate educational program for GPs practicing women’s health in the community.
