Dr Peta Wright

Dr Wright completed her undergraduate medical degree with Honours at Monash University in Melbourne in 2004 and obtained her RANZCOG Fellowship in 2013. She has completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine and a certificate in Women’s Integrative Medicine with Dr Aviva Romm.

Dr Wright is deeply committed to all aspects of women’s health care and founded Vera Women’s Wellness in 2020. She strives to take a wholistic approach to managing the health concerns of women of all ages. Peta has a particular interest and expertise in the areas of paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, having completed a fellowship in adolescent gynaecology in 2013. Peta has worked in tertiary hospitals caring for women with high-risk pregnancies throughout her training and early years of becoming a consultant. She has also worked in Indigenous and remote Women’s health in Darwin and the Northern territory for a year during her training.

For patients who are trying to conceive, Dr Wright offers fertility care with a wholistic approach, addressing diet, lifestyle, and environmental factors. If required, she can offer treatment with assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI) and ovulation induction.

Peta is also passionate about helping women with pelvic pain and endometriosis, as well as polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypothalamic amenorrhoea, vulva concerns, painful sex, abnormal pap smears and menopause medicine. In addition, she works with women experiencing pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

When it comes to treating any gynaecological condition, it is of utmost importance to Peta that she educates and informs her patients and aims to empower them to achieve the best quality of life possible.

She is also highly tuned to the ways that nutrition, stress, and lifestyle can affect hormonal balance and aims to help women work on these aspects of their lives as part of their overall health picture. Peta is passionate about helping anyone who comes to see her feel happy and comfortable in their skin, including trans-men and non-binary people who need help managing periods or requiring hysterectomy. It is Peta’s dream to help women remember the beauty and power in their bodies and to give them back the tools and knowledge to live happy, healthy, and empowered lives.
