Dr Nikhil Patravali is a highly experienced Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist working with Monash IVF in Western Sydney.
Nikhil trained in Scotland at Ninewells hospital and the University of Dundee in Obstetrics and gynaecology. Following his training, he worked as a consultant at Ninewells hospital until he moved from the UK to Australia in 2016. Since arriving in Australia he has held various leadership positions alongside maintaining his own private gynaecological practice.
Nikhil has always had an interest in reproductive medicine for fertility treatment and reproductive surgery with a focus on surgical procedures to improve fertility. His noticeable caring nature resonates well with patients. Patients feel at ease with Nikhil as he provides a supportive environment working collaboratively with patients to improve their outcomes.
He is currently the head of Gynaecology at Nepean hospital in Penrith as well as running his own private practice. His private practice focusses on treating women with gynaecological conditions relating to periods, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, prolapse and menopausal issues. Nikhil is a strong supporter of minimal access surgery (key hole) for common gynaecological problems and commonly performs procedures like colposcopies for assessing and treating cervical conditions.
His dedicated interest in education and teaching has led him to have several teaching roles throughout his career. He is currently affiliated to University of Sydney as a clinical lecturer teaching undergraduate medical students. He is also the training supervisor with RANZCOG for post graduate trainees.
