Bump Acupuncture and Nutrition
This is a common question we hear from patients in clinic. Not everybody experiences physical sensations, such as abdominal discomfort, temperature changes or even cervical mucus. It’s always a good idea to get a baseline by using ovulation testers and basal temperature charting for a few months to see where your ovulation is falling.
If there’s no sign of ovulation then speak with your doctor about recommendations they may have to assist you. Research shows acupuncture increases ovulation frequency and regulates hormone levels. It also helps to produce healthy cervical mucus while also relaxing the nervous system. This can help during an IVF frozen cycle to encourage ovulation to come on time.
It’s also important to keep an eye on your weight. Being over or underweight can disrupt ovulation by producing too much or too little estrogen. Try switching animal proteins at some meals to plant proteins, such as legumes and nuts. Keep your diet low in sugar, refined carbohydrates and caffeine. Eat regular servings of eggs and drink plenty of water, which will help produce more cervical mucus. Other than that try to stay as stress-free as possible by trying yoga or meditation.
